Major gas leak in Gorleston

POLICE are currently dealing with a major gas leak at an address on Poplar Avenue in Gorleston.

Police were called to the address shortly after 1.10pm and are currently on scene with colleagues from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Police were called to the address shortly after 1.10pm and are currently on scene with colleagues from Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.

A 200m cordon has been set up in and around Poplar Avenue and police are asking residents and motorists to avoid the area.

Householders are also asked not to light barbecues.

Residents living in the area already at their home address are advised to stay inside.
