An 18-year-old man appeared at Norwich Crown Court yesterday charged with causing an arson which sparked a large scale evacuation in Great Yarmouth.
Steven Trudgill, of no fixed abode, is alleged to have started a fire in a garage workshop in Albert Road on November 28.
During the blaze firefighters had to evacuate 120 people from nearby homes because of fears that oxyacetylene canisters could explode.
Trudgill was remanded into custody until February 10 for a plea and case management hearing.
