Man attacked in town centre

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attack on a man in Great Yarmouth town centre.

The incident took place between 11.15pm and midnight on Saturday, on Regent Road close to the Clinton Cards store.

The incident took place between 11.15pm and midnight on Saturday, on Regent Road close to the Clinton Cards store.

The 31 year old victim was standing with his girlfriend when a man approached him from behind and jumped on his back.

After pushing the suspect away he was surrounded and punched by a larger group of men.

His girlfriend tried to intervene before the offenders made off towards the seafront.
