A MAN appeared in court yesterday charged with converting a Gorleston property into a cannabis factory and growing up to 70,000 of the class C drug.
Vietnamese national Dung Van Pham is alleged to have produced a large amount of cannabis skunk in Beccles Road between November 30, 2007 and August 14 last year.
It is claimed at least two harvests of cannabis skunk were grown in that time and that in the house were various pieces of cultivation equipment, including extractor fans and feeding trays.
During a short hearing before Yarmouth Magistrates, Pham, 48, of Gildersome Street, London, spoke through an interpreter to confirm his name, age and address.
He was granted unconditional bail until May 18 to reappear before magistrates for a committal hearing to Norwich Crown Court.
