A 27-year-old man from Hemsby appeared before Great Yarmouth magistrates yesterday, Wednesday, to deny threatening to shoot his girlfriend.
David Barber, 27, is alleged to have called 999 and told an operator he had a gun and was going to shoot Lisa Jones and anyone who came near him on Monday, December 28.
It is claimed that pig farm worker Barber made the call from his Stable Field Way home after he allegedly assaulted his partner earlier that Monday night.
Following the alleged incidents police cordoned off Stable Field Way and armed officers were called in.
Last Wednesday Barber pleaded not guilty to making threats to kill and did not enter a plea against an assault charge on his girlfriend, who lives in Yarmouth.
Magistrates bailed Barber to reappear before them on February 20 when he will then be committed to Norwich Crown Court where his trial will be heard at a later date.
