A man who was threatening to harm himself in the early hours of New Year's Day has been taken into police custody.
HM Coastguard Gorleston was called just before 4am to search for the man, described as 'despondent' in a post on the Coastguard Facebook page.
After a two-hour search, the man was found safe and taken into custody by Norfolk Police.
Norfolk Fire Service and Hemsby Lifeboat were also involved in the search. Coastguard helicopter Rescue 912 was called, but stood down before it arrived.
