A man sustained bruising and grazing after he was robbed in Great Yarmouth.

A 27-year-old man was walking along the footbridge between the train station and North Quay between 6.30pm and 8.35pm on Friday, July 20 with his bicycle when he was approached by four men who asked for a cigarette.

When he said he did not have one, one of the men produced a small pen knife and he was assaulted (not using the knife).

The group ran off towards North Quay and the man found cash and tobacco had been stolen. He suffered minor bruising and grazing.

One of the men is described as black and was wearing a grey tracksuit with blue stripes.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or saw the group before or after the assault. A woman came to the assistance of the victim and police are keen to trace her.

Calls should be made to DC Matthew Jenkins at Great Yarmouth CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
