A drunken Great Yarmouth man who threatened to headbutt a police officer has been ordered to carry out 120 hours unpaid work in the community.
Robert Silliker told Sgt Jonathan Mitchell that he wanted to nut him after he was arrested in the early hours on Yarmouth's seafront.
Last Friday Silliker, 26, of Regent Road, was sentenced after he had earlier pleaded guilty at the town's magistrates to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
Robert Barnwell, prosecuting, said Sgt Mitchell had arrested Silliker at about 1.30am on March 27 over an incident involving a cosh like object.
Mr Barnwell said after Sgt Mitchell arrested and handcuffed Silliker the defendant swore and said: “I would like to nut you.”
The court heard Silliker had previous convictions for public order and weapon offences.
His solicitor Rob New said: “He was intoxicated. He has very limited recollection.”
At the previous hearing a charge of possessing an offensive weapon was dropped against Silliker after magistrates heard the cosh like object had been in his pocket during the incident.
As well as the 120 hours unpaid work magistrates placed Silliker on a 12 month community order and ordered him to pay �85 costs.
