A MAN tried to steal a large Alsatian dog while it was walking with its owner in Gorleston.

The cream and white dog was being walked by its female owner on the recreation ground off Suffolk Road when she approached by a man who tried to take the dog.

The man, who was wearing a hooded top and dark glasses, tried to grab the lead but ran off after the dog barked.
