The broadland village of Martham, near Great Yarmouth, has received a double boost after it received a £10,000 community windfall and it was announced its youth club would soon be reopening.

Martham Parish Council has been given £10,000 of Norfolk Ambition funding to distribute to local community groups and organisation in 2010.

Anyone who wants to bid for a slice of the funding can call parish clerk Peter Dawson on 01493 749938, e-mail him at clerk@martham.gov.uk or write to him at 8 School Road, Martham, NR29 4PX.

In the second boost to the village the Martham Youth Club on Playing Field Lane is to reopen on the evening of Friday, November 6 at 7.30pm under the new banner of Just4U.

The new club is the result of a project involving the parish council, Flegg High School, the Playing Field Trust and the police and it has received financial help from O2 and the Martham Boat Dyke Trust.
