Masons in Great Yarmouth have raised £1,500 for a special school.

The masons of Saint Nicholas Lodge, Great Yarmouth, presented £1,500 to Caister's John Grant School.

Master of the lodge Brian George chose the school, which caters for 120 pupils with complex needs and profound difficulties, as his charity for the Christmas meeting.

The money was raised from the alms collection, raffle and sale of a teddy bear. A further £250 was donated from the Norfolk Masons Provincial Grand Lodge 250 anniversary scheme and £100 came from the Masonic Bowls Club.

The donation will go towards helping the school update the control system in its sensory room, which uses textiles, music and lights to enable learners to interact with their environment.
