AN application has been submitted by Filby in Bloom to build a stone memorial in Pound Lane in tribute to soldiers who were brutally treated in Japanese prisoner of war camps.
If approved by Yarmouth Borough Council next month, the memorial which will feature the Far East Prisoner of War logo with the words “We shall remember them” and could be unveiled in July. It has been designed by villager Tom Green.
