Two men carried out a “sustained” attack on a man after a drinking session in Great Yarmouth and robbed him of his 600 mobile phone, a court heard yesterday.
Aiden Murphy, 20, and Louis Sullivan, 21, both knew the victim Adam Sorrell and attacked him after meeting him by chance after they got out of a taxi in the early hours of September 20, last year.
Norwich Crown Court heard how Murphy punched Mr Sorrell to the ground and Sullivan asked him for cash and got him to hand over his mobile phone, which was worth 600.
After he got up from the floor he was punched again to the ground and was knocked unconscious during the attack by both men.
The court heard that Mr Sorrell suffered pain and swelling to his face as a result of the attack.
Murphy, of Nelson Road, Yarmouth, and Sullivan of Exmouth Road, Yarmouth both admitted robbery and Murphy also admitted a charge of common assault on the same victim when he punched him during an earlier incident.

Judge Simon Barham jailed Sullivan for two and half years and Murphy was sent to a young offender's institution for two years.
He told them: “This was a serious offence involving two men attacking and robbing another man at night and you subjected him to a sustained attack.”
