‘Nothing matters just come back’ - Family of missing Yarmouth man Tony Green issue heartfelt plea for him to return home

Mr Green, 25, was last seen on Saturday night in Northgate Street in Great Yarmouth, with his disappearance leading to police and friends searching for him.

His family are growing increasingly concerned as he suffers from type 1 diabetes. They believe he will have ran out of insulin as he only had enough to last him a couple of days.

They were expecting him to return to his grandmother’s house in Great Yarmouth after his night out on Saturday.

In a heartfelt message his sister, Christine Hunn, 34, said: “You are really loved and we really miss you. Nothing matters just come back.”

Mr Green’s grandmother, Margret, said: “He usually comes back here when he goes out. I went to a car boot sale on Sunday morning and was expecting to come home and find him on my bed.

“He left all of his bags at my house and brought a drill to fix a unit in my bathroom on Sunday. If I needed anything doing he would do it.”

His family have been overwhelmed by the support they have received both from friends of Mr Green and the police.

His grandmother added: “Everyone who has helped us has been fantastic. We get hundreds of messages a day from people we didn’t even realise knew Tony. It makes us really proud of him.”

In a moving message they were contacted by a man who Mr Green had talked out of committing suicide after he lost custody of his children.

Mrs Green added: “Tony is a giver not a receiver. If he speaks to someone who needs help he spends time with them and supports them. That’s the kind of lad he is.”

Mr Green, who lives in Lowestoft with his mother, has also had a huge impact on his niece’s lives. His sister said: “My daughters adore him and have asked when he will back. He has always wanted a family of his own so he loves spending time and having fun with them.”

Another search will be carried out by his friends and family this afternoon. It will start at Bar X in Northgate Street and trace back to his grandmother’s house as they carry on in hope of finding him.
