A youngster has fended off competition to win a place in the semi-final of a national competition.

Mollie Dawes, from Hopton-on-Sea, finds herself in the penultimate stage of the Little Miss Teen Great Britain contest for 2018, which invites all girls aged between 10 and 12 to take part.

The Miss Teen Great Britain events are designed to combine glamour with achievement, and an interview section forms 50pc of each participant’s total score.

Ahead of the semi-final, she said: “I am so excited to have made it to the semi final of such an amazing competition and I hope I can make my family proud.

“Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true.”

The grand final of Little Miss Teen Great Britain will be held later in the year at The Globe in Blackpool, where teenagers from across the country Great Britain will compete for the crown and a number of prizes.
