The assault and robbery happened at about 2.30am on Saturday when the male victim was walking along West Road, near to Martin De Rye Way.

The victim, who was in his late teens, was then approached by three male youths all riding on one moped.

One of the riders assaulted the victim before stealing his bag and making off on the moped towards the centre of the village.

The teenager suffered minor injuries to his face.

The moped riders were all wearing dark tracksuits and face coverings.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
