MORE new jobs are set to be created in the Great Yarmouth borough as the area continues to buck the economic gloom sweeping the country.

Financial Telemarketing Services (FTS), based at Beacon Park in Gorleston, needs 10 staff to join its call centre, selling bill protected insurance for the company Cardif Pinnacle.

The new recruits are due to start on March 23 and will be working between 11.45am and 8.15pm making outbound calls to customers to sell the insurance, which offers protection for people who have lost their jobs.

Manager Vicky O'Leary said: “We are very fortunate to be within the insurance industry. We have got products that are required by the general public.”

The call centre currently has 90 staff and handles calls for a number of companies, including Standard Life, Bristol and West and Churchill insurance.
