Motorists are being warned to be careful as they wake up to icy conditions on Tuesday morning.

Phil Garner, forecaster at Norwich-based Weatherquest, warned that overnight temperatures of -5C in certain parts of Norfolk and Suffolk would lead to frost.

Mr Garner believed people across the region would wake up to “widespread frost” across the region.

He predicted that would be caused by Monday night’s plummeting temperatures, particularly in west Norfolk and west Suffolk.

Coastal regions might escape ice because of offshore winds.

But areas about 10 miles inland are at risk of experiencing minus temperatures, according to the forecaster.
