Mr Wright's donations to the Samaritans, Headway Norfolk and Waveney, Palliative Care East and East Coast Hospice were made possible after he helped local marine company Unitymark overcome contractual problems.

After Mr Wright's successful intervention with the Financial Services Authority, Richard Hards of Unitymark, based at Browston, decided to donate 2,000 to good causes.

Mr Wright chose the four charities as they are committed to supporting seriously ill and injured or terminally ill people in the Yarmouth area.
