TONY Wright the MP for Great Yarmouth has given a �2,000 boost to four charities from the town after he presented each of them with �500 cheques on Tuesday.
TONY Wright the MP for Great Yarmouth has given a �2,000 boost to four charities from the town after he presented each of them with �500 cheques on Tuesday.
Mr Wright's donations to the Samaritans, Headway Norfolk and Waveney, Palliative Care East and East Coast Hospice were made possible after he helped local marine company Unitymark overcome contractual problems.
After Mr Wright's successful intervention with the Financial Services Authority, Richard Hards of Unitymark, based at Browston, decided to donate �2,000 to good causes.
Mr Wright chose the four charities as they are committed to supporting seriously ill and injured or terminally ill people in the Yarmouth area.
He said: “The donation from Richard Hards was a pleasant surprise and will be greatly appreciated by these four charities.”
