Companies which rely on Great Yarmouth's port and sea links for their trade met the town's MP yesterday to discuss the nearly completed outer harbour.
Tony Wright met representatives of the Yarmouth Port Users' Association to talk about the 50m outer harbour and its planned container terminal.
The association claims the new site will bring few benefits to the town in terms of jobs and will create more traffic.
Association chairman Mike Gouldby said: “We had a very positive meeting with Tony Wright, who understands our concerns and has promised to follow them up.”
Richard Packham, the managing director of Yarmouth Borough Council, was invited to the meeting but did not attend.
