COALITION colleagues Brandon Lewis and Norman Lamb met this week to discuss coastal erosion.

Great Yarmouth Conservative MP Mr Lewis and North Norfolk Liberal Democrat MP Mr Lamb will be working together on the issue, which is a pressing concern in both constituencies.

Mr Lewis has written to secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs Caroline Spelman, to highlight the problem and invited one of her ministers to visit the coastline.

He said: “For too long there has been money spent on report after report, when actually we could have done a lot of work on sea defence itself in that time and for that money.

“This is an issue affecting property and business in Great Yarmouth of well over £100 million. I am passionate about protecting our coastline we cannot afford to let it slip away we need to protect it.”
