Firefighters tackled another blaze at a derelict holiday camp in Hemsby overnight.

Four fire engines were called to the former Pontins site off Back Market Lane, one from Martham, two from Great Yarmouth and one from Gorleston.

Crews used hose reel and main jets supplemented by a hydrant to put it out.

According to parish council chairman Keith Kyriacou it is the third fire at the site, the most recent being last month.

The incident lasted for around an hour until 12.54am.

The police were also called.

The site has been empty since the end of 2008 and long been a target for vandals and arsonists.

Last month a fire started in the former entertainments building took 40 firefighters two hours to bring under control.

Over the years, a number of schemes for the site have been proposed but so far nothing has progressed.

The last application in March 2016 was rejected by borough councillors.
