A day of free festivities will take place in Gorleston and Great Yarmouth as part of an international celebration of music.

Make Music Day events are hosted in more than 800 cities and 120 countries across the world and this year, Norfolk Music Hub has organised events at Gorleston Library and St George’s Theatre Cafe.

The events are open to all, both as spectators and performers, and musicians are invited to share their music with the community.

There will be live music at both venues from 10am to 3pm on Thursday, June 21, featuring schools and musicians from the area.

The day takes place annually on the longest day of the year, having been founded in France.

Make Music Day UK aims to turn the country into a stage and offer a fulls spectrum of performers the opportunity to showcase their skills to friends and strangers in the community.
