A BULGARIAN is to fly into Norfolk in the next few days to help police formally identify a man found dead in a Great Yarmouth seafront hotel in mysterious circumstances three weeks ago.

The body is thought to be that of a Bulgarian man, in his 20s, who had been working as a painter and decorator in Yarmouth, but police will only be able to formally identity him with the help of his friend, who is being helped to organise his journey by the coroner's officer.

Det Insp Stuart Armes said they were waiting for the results of various forensic tests and he was still keeping an open mind about the cause of death and whether it might be suspicious. He admitted there was always the possibility of test results being inconclusive.

Anyone with information about the dead man is asked to call Yarmouth police on 0845-4564567.
