Seven families in north Norfolk were given the keys to their new homes yesterday when a new 721,000 development was opened in Stalham.

The houses, on Bank Street, are part of Victory Housing Trust's pledge to provide the district with 300 new affordable homes in its first five years.

Named Dace Terrace, the development consists of three one-bedroom flats and three two-bedroom maisonettes which will be rented and one two-bedroom house which will be a shared-ownership property.

It brings the total of new homes completed by Victory Housing Trust to 182, with a further 103 being built at the moment.

Chief executive John Archibald said: “Communities like Stalham need people living right at their heart, and affordable housing it key to helping them to do that. We are committed to continuing to build good quality new homes right across the north of Norfolk so that people can afford to live how they want to, where they want to.”

The homes were funded by a 310,000 grant from the Homes and Communities Agency while the remaining 411,000 came from Victoria Housing Trust.
