NEW fingerprint technology is the latest weapon in the fight against crime in the county.

Norfolk Police have taken delivery of new hand-held electronic fingerprint devices which can be used to establish a person's identity if they are already on the national database.

It has been developed to increase the amount of time officers spend on the streets, taking away the need to take a person to a police station to establish their identity.
