THE Palliative Care East appeal has received more donations towards its appeal to raise £1.5m for a new palliative care centre at the James Paget University Hospital.

Staff at the Jet garage in Southtown Road, Great Yarmouth raised £150 for the appeal from a raffle and handed a cheque to the appeal's co-ordinator Jenny Westgate.

A further donation of £2,300 has been made by members of Gorleston Conservative Club, enough to buy a butterfly plaque bearing the club's name which will go on the wall in the centre. The cheque was presented on January 15.

Donors giving £2,000 or more to the appeal get a plaque in honour of their achievement.

On March 20, there will be dinner and dancing to 1960s music from the band Ashes to Ashes at the Ocean Room in Gorleston.
