Malaviya Twenty finds new home in Great Yarmouth’s outer harbour

An offshore supply vessel at the centre of a legal row has been moved to a new berth in Great Yarmouth.

The Malaviya Twenty was moved to the outer harbour this week from its berth at South Quay near the town centre.

She has been moored in Great Yarmouth since June 2016 and now has a second crew on board.

It is now in Peel Ports’ outer harbour.

A spokesman for Peel Ports said: “The vessel has been moved to the Outer Harbour for operational and security reasons.

“The situation regarding the Malaviya Twenty and her crew remains unchanged.”

The vessel had been at the centre of a court dispute in India, between the ICICI Bank which owns the ship and a liquidator, over who receives the proceeds of a potential sale.

However, the vessel had been arrested by the port authority, who also have the option to sell it.

There also had been issues over the Indian crew not being paid.
