Up to 40 jobs are being created with the opening of a Home Bargains store in Great Yarmouth, which opens on Saturday.

The company said it is investing approximately £500,000 in the new outlet in Pasteur retail park, Tamesfield Way and it will be officially opened by Mayor Cllr Marlene Fairhead.

Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry and opening approximately 50 stores a year taking its portfolio to 350 outlets across the UK.

The 16,000 sq ft unit, which is a former Comet store, will sell a selection of homewares. Home Bargains also stocks a range of branded goods, including health and beauty, home style goods, sweets, snacks and drinks.

The family-owned company also has an e-commerce website, www.homebargains.co.uk, enabling customers to shop online.

Home Bargains is the trading name of TJ Morris which was established over 30 years ago with its first store in Liverpool, and employs approximately 10,000.
