FLU and the winter vomiting bug caused yesterday's New Year's Day sea dip at Great Yarmouth to be called off.
It had been hoped about 25 people would take the plunge for charities for blind people at the fourth annual swim organised by Yarmouth Football Club. But illness over the festive season has hit numbers hard, forcing the late cancellation.
Organiser Anne Jones said: “Everybody seems to be coughing or spluttering. But the dip will be back in 2010.”
