No fresh injury worries for city boss

PAUL Lambert has no fresh injury worries as Southampton visit Carrow Road on Saturday (3pm) aiming to end Norwich City's perfect home form.

The Canaries have won 11 from 11 in League One at home since the end of September - but the Saints promise to be a stern test of City's nerve.

The strike trios of Norwich's Chris Martin, Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan, and Southampton led by Rickie Lambert, Lee Barnard and Adam Lallana bring with them more than 100 goals this season - but the Norwich boss believes that means little going into the game.

“Sometimes when people put the hype on the lads to go and produce it doesn't really happen,” he said. “On this given day we have to hope that our lads do what they've been doing throughout this season.

“I think they've got more than 50 goals between the three of them which is incredible, it really is no matter what way you want to look at it.

“It's been incredible the goal scoring feats that they've done and we'll try and win another game.

“We don't play defensive football. Yes, you've got to defend your goal and do all the right things, but we know we've got to try and win a game and the best way to win a game is to try and get on the front foot and try to get the crowd behind us.

“I think if you look at the last two games (against Southampton) they were terrific games of football and worthy of a higher division, but the truth of the matter is we're not. That's the whole crux of the matter.

“We're in League One and we have to earn the right to get out of it. You can say that all you want but we are where we are and we'll do everything we can to get out of the league.”

The league leaders will be without striker Cody McDonald and defenders Adam Drury and Zak Whitbread for the game, while Luke Daley is still recovering from a torn thigh muscle.

Michael Spillane and Jens Berthel Askou are both in contention but almost certainly will have to settle for a place on the bench.
