Daniel Reid's body was plucked from sea in Dutch waters in August last year, three weeks after he disappeared beneath the waves despite frantic efforts to save him.
Mr Reid was cremated in Holland in October after his Hunstanton-based family were unable to raise enough money to repatriate his body.
Bob Adams, coroners officer, based at Gorleston's James Paget Hospital, said: “Because a body never came back to British soil there will be no inquest.”
