A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a 58-year-old man in Haddiscoe will not face any charges over the matter. Father-of-four Roy Haynes was found dead on the drive way of his Haddiscoe home in Rectory Road on July 18.
A 20-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a 58-year-old man in Haddiscoe will not face any charges over the matter.
Father-of-four Roy Haynes was found dead on the drive way of his Haddiscoe home in Rectory Road on July 18. A post mortem result revealed Mr Haynes died from a knife wound.
Following the death a 20-year-old man was arrested on the suspicion of murder but was released from Yarmouth police station without being charged.
Police confirmed today the man will face no charges and that following a thorough investigation no evidence has been found to suggest a third party was involved.
A file is being prepared by the investigation team for the coroner William Armstrong.
Mr Haynes worked at the James Paget University Hospital for 13 years as director of human resources and operations until his retirement in June 2006.
He had lived with his wife Sue on Rectory Road for about 14 years and he was also heavily involved in Haddiscoe's Stopit campaign to fight plans for a gravel pit in the village.
The couple had two sons and two daughters.
