PD Gizmo was called to support Great Yarmouth Police on Thursday (June 6) after officers had spotted two suspects breaking into a house.

The burglars refused to come out until they spotted the canine detective, police said.

Norfolk and Suffolk Police Dogs tweeted: "PD Gizmo was introduced to them and funnily enough they changed their minds."

The suspects were arrested.

While PD Gizmo was busy foiling a burglary, his colleague, PD Toby, helped police involved in an operation targeting organised crime.

A quantity of controlled substances was found in a car and caravan in Great Yarmouth on Thursday (June 6).

Police tweeted: "Great stop by OpMoonshotEast in Great Yarmouth this evening.

"Quantity of controlled substances located.

"PD Toby assists in the search and located further suspected substances in the car and caravan."

Operation Moonshot, first launched three years ago in west Norfolk, uses automated number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras to detect uninsured, untaxed or unroadworthy vehicles, as well as those suspected of being linked to organised crime.
