A police drone is being used to search along the Norfolk coast for a missing 55-year-old woman.

The drone and Coastguard teams have been out since 7am looking for Carol Smalley, who went missing in the Hopton area.

She was last seen on Wednesday and is from Lincolnshire.

A spokeswoman for Norfolk police said: “Searches by the Coastguard and police drone have been taking place since about 7am this morning and will carry on until the end of the day (as darkness sets in). The searches will cover sea and land (beaches/cliffs) in Gorleston, Hopton and further south.”

Her clothes and a bag were found on a beach leading to the sea.

Emergency services and lifeboat crews carried out searches yesterday for her.
