A teenager has been attacked in a picturesque Norfolk Broads village.

The teenage boy was set upon in Staithe Road in Martham at about 9.45pm on Saturday by up to three males, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer minor injuries.

During the assault the suspects attempted to take items from the victim’s pockets but they fled from the scene when they were disturbed by a car driving into the road.

The police officer investigating the crime, PC Ivan Lovett, is keen to trace the driver of the car who may have witnessed the incident.

The suspects are described as being aged in their late teens.

Police say one was believed to be wearing a balaclava and it is also believed another had a white scarf.
