CRIMINAL damage offences should be reported immediately to police rather than victims waiting until the following day. Following a recent rise in criminal damage incidents in the north Great Yarmouth area Sgt Ian Cox of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team is urging victims and witnesses to offences to call police straight away, giving officers a better chance of catching the culprit.
CRIMINAL damage offences should be reported immediately to police rather than victims waiting until the following day.
Following a recent rise in criminal damage incidents in the north Great Yarmouth area Sgt Ian Cox of the local Safer Neighbourhood Team is urging victims and witnesses to offences to call police straight away, giving officers a better chance of catching the culprit.
Sgt Cox said: “Please do not leave the reporting of criminal damage or antisocial behaviour until the following day. Report it immediately as it will give my officers the chance to detect offenders or deter them from committing offences; it is by working together that we can reduce this problem.”
In recent weeks there has been a spate of sporadic damage to cars and property in an area between St Nicholas Road the Jellicoe Road.
