The manager of Eversley Nursing Home in North Denes Road, Great Yarmouth is a regional winner in the Great British Care Awards.

Ewa Kujawa carried off the palliative care/end of life award in the East of England regional heat at Peterborough and will now compete in the national final at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre next spring.

Judges said: “Ewa is clearly passionate about providing the very best end of life care with the support of a strong team.”

Mrs Kujawa, who was among more than 300 professionals shortlisted at the regional awards, said: “I am thrilled to win this award which is really for my whole team at Eversley. Without them, I would not be able to do anything here.”

A nurse with 34 years’ experience, she moved to Yarmouth 12 years ago from her native Poland to start work at the Kingsley Healthcare run home.
