THE end of Ramadan was celebrated with the festival of Eid by the children of the Ormesby childminding group. A feast was prepared for lunch, including Seviyan, a sweet dish made from vermicelli and rice and following this they dressed up for the occasion. It is customary to give each others lots of hugs and wish each other “Eid Mubarak” or “Happy Eid” which the youngsters did with enthusiasm. The day ended with a story called Sweet Dates to Eat, all about Eid-ul-Fitr.
