AN ORMESBY hairdressing salon is set to reopen in just over a weeks’ time following a devastating fire at Christmas.
Miss Unique, in North Road, was forced to close after the unexplained blaze ripped through the premises during the early hours of Christmas Day, causing huge holes in the ceiling and substantial fire and smoke damage to rooms.
The salon’s owner Louise Carson, 32, who lives in neighbouring California, has since been trading from the Grange hotel in Ormesby while the hairdressers were refurbished.
However, she will be returning to her original premises to start trading again from June 1.
She said: “The Grange is quite small and it will just be nice to get back into the salon and see customers again and get life back to normal.”
She had been running the salon for just over six years when the blaze happened.
