A vacancy on the Ormesby with Scratby Parish Council caused by the death of long-serving member Ron Eminson is being filled by co-opting.

Any residents who live in the parish or within three miles of its boundary and who would be interested in filling the Scratby seat is invited to send their details with a brief description about who they are to the clerk Pat Devlin at 42 Black Street, Martham.

Parish council chairman Geoff Freeman said it did not require a huge commitment but was a chance to give something back to the community.

The successful candidate will join a council of 16 people, working at the grass roots level of village life helping to improve amenities for everyone.

Mr Eminson died earlier this year, after more than a decade of service to the village.
