ALONGSIDE the many animals being cared for at the centre are foxes Demi and Dudley.

Brought in five weeks ago at only five days old, Dudley faced a 90-mile trip after being found motherless in Lincolnshire, and is now being raised as a pet by the Garners.

However, once Demi has recovered - she was found aged two weeks, underweight and covered in hundreds of tics - she will be heading back into the wild this autumn.

John said that they were poles apart: “We keep them separate because of their different futures, and though they have gone nose-to-nose before Dudley is now more interested in people. If their eyes haven't opened, as Dudley's hadn't when he came in, then you can raise them yourselves- you are all they know and are like a parent to them.”
