Grateful Paul Clegg is a appealing to the young couple who returned his wallet to get in touch so he can thank them properly.
The father-of-three from Boundary Road, Great Yarmouth, said he was so stunned when they turned up on his doorstep with all his bank cards, credit cards and driving licence that he failed to offer them anything in return.
But on reflection he was so touched by what he described as “a true act of modern day honesty” that he wanted to repay their kindness in some way.
Mr Clegg said he had not noticed the wallet was gone, but had evidently dropped it outside his house. Although there was no cash inside, losing it would have been an “incredible inconvenience” he said.
“I usually do have some money in my wallet and would have offered them something at least to buy them a drink,” he said.
“If you are the couple in question please get in touch through the paper as I would like to thank you for your kindness.”
