Parents say they are fed up dollop-dodging their way to school and are calling for action over the problem.
One mum said she was poised with her camera to catch the culprit who was allowing their dog to foul outside her home at all times of the day.
Paul Shucksmith, environmental ranger at Great Yarmouth Borough Council said he would assess the problem, adding that complaints usually increased as the days got shorter.
He said adding to problems was the county council's programme of light column replacements which was also taking away borough council signs reminding dog owners of their responsibility to the community.
