Pavement improvement works starting in Southtown Road on Monday are scheduled to last 15 weeks.

The £150,000 scheme to make the area more cycle friendly will see reduced carriageway width and parking restrictions, but the road will remain open.

The stretch affected runs from Queen Anne’s Road to Boundary Road.

Engineers say there should be little disruption to people travelling through the area.

A temporary parking restriction will be in place from Monday until July 30 on western sides of Southtown Road from 79m south of the centre line of Cromwell Road to 20m north of the centre line of Waveney Road.

However, people will instead be able to park on the western side of Southtown Road between Queen Anne’s Road and Peter Doidge Car Audio Centre, where there will be a temporary suspension of double yellow lines to compensate for the loss of parking.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
