Peter Andre blames “abdominal pain” for cancelling Great Yarmouth show as he makes Hopton appearance

A heavy force of security personnel had their work cut out when fans flocked to the Potter’s Resort at Hopton, to see Peter Andre perform.

The show was a triumphant return for Andre after fans were left disappointed by the cancellation of a recent show in Great Yarmouth.

Andre’s Managing Agent, Marie Claire of Can Associates, issued a statement at the time saying, “The star was devastated that ‘severe sickness’ forced him to cancel his Great Yarmouth show on 1st September 2018”.

She added, “The pop star was unsure at one point if he would be able to fly back to the UK for the event but decided that he was physically unable to attend”.

However, last Sunday, the popular singer arrived at Potters on time with hundreds of fans trying desperately to get a glimpse of him.

Speaking before the show, the 45-year-old said he had been busy working on a new album as well as TV and filming, with his packed diary including a part in the ‘Grease The Musical’, Tour, next year.

He also apologised for the cancelled events, and explained.

“It’s all down to a long term problem and I get excruciating abdominal pain for which I had medical attention and it is difficult,” he said.

“I am fine one minute and in agony the next, and it is embarrassing to have to tell hundreds of people I can’t make it, but hopefully my friends and fans will support and understand.”

Over 700 fans enjoyed the evening, some of which were offered a discount price to match the cancelled Britannia Pier events.

The fans also got their autographs and hugs from their idol who is celebrating his 25th year in show business.

He reeled out his long list of chart hits during the show, accompanied by a live band.

Although Peter did not want to talk about his private life he said, “I love my family and enjoy coming to East Anglia especially the Suffolk/Norfolk coasts”.

“I’ve been here a few times now and each time it gets better and the people are great, plus the big open spaces, it’s absolutely wonderful.”
