Mobile phone customers using the Orange network were cut off for up to four days due to technical problems in North Norfolk.

Signal problems and difficulties connecting to the network affected business and personal users in the Baconsthorpe area between Cromer and Holt between March 13 and 17.

Ian Lambert, a travelling businessman, said: “I had to drive to Cromer or Holt to use the phone or to pick up texts for four days. I must have missed seven or eight new clients at least. I have no idea how much that could have cost me.”

An Orange spokesperson said: “Orange can confirm that some customers in the North Norfolk area may have experienced reduced network coverage over the weekend of Friday March 13. Our technical services team has resolved this issue and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
