Planners are poised to approve ambitious plans for a new village hall at Scratby.
Parish councillors at Ormesby with Scratby Parish Council have for years wanted to build a community hub offering a range of rooms and opportunities for villagers.
A hike in the parish precept, grants and local money spinning efforts will pay for the 450,000 hall, set to be an asset to the village.
Outline permission was granted on the Beach Road site five years ago. The new full application features some alterations and tweaks adding an area of agricultural land, adding outdoor space for users.
In a report to development control committee members officials say that although the hall is outside the village development area it would not affect the landscape character of the area. The report adds: “In terms of its appearance the proposed village hall is considered to represent a respectable form of design.”
