A householder has shared his shock after a car crashed into his garden wall in the early hours of the morning.
Robert Trueman was in bed asleep with his wife Sue when they were woken by a noise and the sounds of an engine revving outside.
Rushing to see what had happened the 54-year-old of Almond Road in Gorleston, saw his wall turned to rubble and no sign of the vehicle which had sped off without stopping.
His 19-year-old son's car which was parked in the drive was written-off as a result of the crash.
Mr Trueman, 54, said: "We wondered what on Earth had happened, especially at that time in the morning.
"We got up, ran downstairs, rang the police and reported it.
"There wasn't much else we could do.

"Someone, somewhere has a car that is really smashed up at the front."
Officers were examining CCTV footage from a nearby shop, he said, and an eyewitness had seen a car being driven erratically around the Shrublands estate.
They were able to identify it as a silver car from debris left in the garden.
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident which happened at around 1.40am on Saturday (September 21) and involved a silver Vauxhall Astra.
Officers are keen to trace the driver of the car and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or seen a Vauxhall Astra with recent substantial damage to the front of the vehicle.
Anyone with information should contact PC Adrian Young at Gorleston Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
