A CHARITY which helps blind African children has been given a PC boost from the county's police force.The Gambian Organisation for the Visually Impaired(Govi) has received six old police computers to help the education of youngsters at its school.

The Gambian Organisation for the Visually Impaired(Govi) has received six old police computers to help the education of youngsters at its school.
Children have already booted up and tried out the new technological teaching aides and a letter of grateful thanks has been sent to Chief Constable Ian McPherson who arranged the donation.
Mr McPherson pledged the machines after he was told the force's old computers would be of great use to the founder of the school - former Caister police officer Phil Feller. Now a civilian support worker at Yarmouth police station, Mr Feller runs the Friends of Govi charity, which continues to raise vital funds to keep the school running.
Mr Feller and wife Joan decided to build the school and launch the charity in 1998 after he saw the plight of Gambia's blind children.
